Immobilizer removal on Toyota Aygo / Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107

Finally we have done it: The immobilizer of the Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 from 2005 to 2014 with engine code 1KR-FE can now be disabled completely!

A common problem with these otherwise fairly reliable cars is a problem with the immobilizer. This manifests itself in not starting the engine, or the engine starting and stalling immediately.
Often error code'P0880 B2799 fault in communication with the immobilizer control module' occurs, other codes that can occur are:

B2791 Communication Condition Failure
Between ECM and Immo
B2795 Unmatched Key Code
B2796 No Communication in Immobiliser System
B2798 Communication Malfunction No. 2

This problem can have several causes, frequently there is a wire break on 1 of the 2 wires between the immobilizer module and the engine ECU. The immobox itself also sometimes gives up the ghost, bad clamping of pins in the immomodule plug we have already experienced, defective or wrong transponders in the key has also been reviewed.

To measure it properly, the entire dashboard must be removed. Since there are 3 generations, we must first find out to which generation the vehicle belongs! One generation has an orange wire near the imm box, which changes via an intermediate connector to a purple wire that connects to the large connector of the engine ECU. Yet another generation has a pink wire at the immbox that changes to a green wire at the intermediate plug, which comes out on the small plug of the motor ECU. Yet another generation no longer has an intermediate plug and the colors remain the same. And finally, you finally get the right generation, and then it turns out that the sequence of pin numbers from the Toyota schematic does not match the numbers on the pin header on the ecu....
As a side note, the system also locks up if you try to start too many times with the fault in it. So then you finally located and fixed your wire break, the engine still does not start because the system has to be synchronized again in a special way.

All in all, you understand that there can be a lot of confusion when measuring this system. Often the hope is given up after a few days of troubleshooting / parts replacement.
We have had a number of vehicles where more problems were created than repaired, because the operation of the system was not entirely clear to the mechanic involved.

This is also why we regularly get the question whether we can completely deactivate the immobilizer. Unfortunately, until now this was not possible, instead we always needed the entire car to diagnose and repair the system.
Therefore, we have now taken matters into our own hands and started to develop a solution for these systems ourselves. And with success, because the first Aygos have been driving around with our modification without any problems for a while now!

For which types does this specific solution apply?
It concerns all Toyota Aygo (KGB10 / KGB10R), Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 from the construction years 2005 to 2014 with the 1.0 liter gasoline engines with engine code 1KR-FE.
These are equipped with the Bosch M7.9.5, M7.9.52, ME7.9.5 or ME7.9.52 engine management system depending on whether the vehicle has Euro 4 or Euro 5 standards and / or is equipped with an electronically operated throttle body / throttle cable.

How do we proceed? Before you contact us, make sure you take a clear picture of the engine ECU label. This is located against the passenger side bulkhead. Furthermore, it is highly recommended to have the car read out first. Of interest are the codes present in the motorecu and in the immobilizer module.
